Library Asks For Community Participation
With the holidays fast approaching many of our thoughts go out to family. For thousands those thoughts are of the family members currently serving overseas in the armed forces. To let them know that we care the Antioch Public Library District is asking for community assistance in making this a brighter holiday season for service men and women that are unable to be with their loved ones this year.
On November 20th a kids publishing class will be making cards to send to troops overseas. These cards will be packaged for shipment by a local VFW contact. But the library wishes to take this project a step further and included donated items from local community members.
A list of GIFTS FOR THE TROOPS can be downloaded here or picked up in the library lobby. All donated items can be left in a special gift wrapped box also located in the library lobby. Please do not place items in our book drop boxes. Unsealed cards and letters are also welcome for those that would like to include them.
Deadline to be part of this Antioch Community “Operation Holiday’s” Service Project is November 23 at 5:00 p.m.
Let’s join forces Antioch and make this a Happy Holiday Season from Antioch to our Troops Overseas!
